Front Mech Problem
Hey Guys,
Looking for some advice or information on a problem that scuppered my ride yesterday (well i say scuppered but it just slowed me down).
I have a Shimano 105 front mech on my road bike and just had the bike serviced after it's first 700 miles on Saturday. Setting out yesterday felt great and everything was pretty smooth.
First climb of the day (in Dunoon, Scotland) and as i shifted out of the big ring i was met with horrendous chain suck. I managed to keep it together and went up the climb in the small chainring.
After reaching the top and the road flattening out, the chain would no longer shift into the big ring. The mech would shift to the position required when pressing (and holding) the gear lever but it would not click or stick in position.
The rest of the day was decent enough but my speed was certainly curtailed as i only had use of 9 gears - very unfortunate as it was an excellent day for cycling in Scotland yesterday and the route had some great descents.
Anyone shed any light on this, or how i can repair it? Is it tightening of bolts or will it be a new part required?
Views and advice much appreciated.
Thanks

Take it back to the shop, it just needs a slight adjustment to the angle nothing to worry about.0
