Chain device for a trail bike?

I'm building (well planning anyway) a new trail bike. At the moment I have 22/32/bash up front and a 11-32 cassette. I have little use for the granny ring as it is, and I figure I could do without it altogether if I had a 11-34 cassette.

If I don't have a front derailleur I assume I need a chain device? ISCG being out of the equation, which is better, clamp or E-type fitting? Are there any compatibility issues with E-type fitting and outboard BB bearings?

Since don't need a heavy duty setup, I'm considering DMR chain reactor and MRP long range patrol. Any comments on these?

not really. just use the correct amount of spacers.

I'd go for an e.13 LG1 and the e.13 adaptor that puts iscg mounts on your frame by inserting behind the bb cups

E13 states a chainring size compatibility of 34T-40T, but I plan to use a 32T. Also, I am not sure I need a top cage, and I prefer to avoid adaptors, if possible.

The top part of the chain device will stop the chain bouncing of the top of the chainring.

    What is your budget ?

The budget would be £100 tops.

e13 do different sizes not just 34-38 they do one called the 32 special which will work with just a 32 chainring.
