can anyone shed some light on why my chain is getting stuck. when i have a load on the bike the chain sticks to the bottom of the small chain ring and gets stuck between the frame and the small ring/ bottom bracket. its worse when the chain is dirty. i fitted a new sram chain to the bike but the same is still happening. i also sanded down any rough edges on the chain ring and checked for bent teeth. does anyone know whats going wrong????

Can you lift the chain away from the cog, right at the front where it should be tight, if you can more than a very small amount then the cog is worn.

I have had problem with chain suck on a brand new sram chain and brand new chainrings, it happens when I change from granny ring (22) to middle ring (32). Only happens occasionaly when under power but still don't know why. Any one else got any ideas? Chain was lubed with finish line green top.

As Nick said, most likely worn chain ring. I tried everything else hoping it wasn't and it was (should've listened to Nick  ). Teeth may seem Ok, mine did but a new small chain ring cured my chain suck (after haveing already repleaced the cahin which was stretched).

Also sounds like your limit stop on the front mech needs adjusting if the chain is coming off like that.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

Sometimes you get a little with new gear, which settles down after 20 or so miles hopefully!
