I'm sure the answer is yes, but would a Shimano Ultegra 10 speed Chain work with my Campag Veloce Ergolevers, rear mech and cassette? (cos they're dead cheap on eBay right now)

yes it would - but would have the pain-in-the-arse shimano joining pin with it

what's the problem with the joining pin? - can't you just remove it?

it's crap- campag one is no better mind - try fixing them at the roadside.

You could just use a KMC one right enough - then they are an excellent chain!

If in doubt, buy a KMC chain.

on eBay a KMC is £19.99, £8 more than the Ultegra. Worth the extra then?

CRC have them for £19.99 aswell, free delivery. Why use a Shimano chain, when you can use a KMC chain?

no - but you want the KMC joining link - it is hand fit and excellent - about a fiver if i remember right.

that said, if you fit the shimano one it will give a lot of good service and I guess they dont' break on the road all that often these days (do they)

you can't take it off for cleaning of you are an obsessive compulsive type like me though!

You could buy the cheap Ultegra chain and then use a KMC or Wipperman connecting link. I used a Wipperman link with a Campagnolo chain last time. This time, I just bought the Wipperman chain. I like it.

p.s. Shimano chains are made by KMC, but they have the joining pin.
