Fabrication of a rear disc mount

I have a basic but good 2007 GT aggressor, which is a brilliant bike but due to some of the parts being on the cheap side, riding 20+ miles a day for 7 months resulted in a catastrpohic failure of the rear mech where by it over shifted straight through the wheel. i have sourced the parts i need to fix it, but i noticed that there should have been a rear disc mount on the frame according to the spec list of the bike, but for some reason the spec changed after the catalouge was released. could you tell me if it is finacially viable to have one made and retro-fitted and who i need to speak to as i love the bike, but it needs a bit more power in the brakes department. i know there are hydraulic rim brakes on the market but i'd prefer the look of the disc brakes all round. keep up the good work lads,

Richie from Cheltenham.

i'm intrigued by this as all GT's came with disc tabs on the frame from about 2005 onwards. Certainly, all the agressors i've seen in the past few years, even the pre-production samples we used the get.

Perhaps nick will know better than i but i'd be inclinded to contact Hotwheels (GT's importer unless it came through halfords) and see if you could wangle another frame. I know they have the right to change spec without notice etc etc but it does seem an unusal instance
