Hi All

After many years on a mountain bike, I finally found my way over to the dark side and bought a road bike last spring. Due to tights funds at the time and height issues (im 6'5") I bought a Giant SCR 4.0 (as i'm sure many will know it has the same frame all the other SCRs just weaker components) with the intention of putting on new bits as the basics ore out. I have done a years riding on it and so far it has proved great but I now have some extra cash and I am going to start to upgrade it with better Shimano componentry etc. The forks on the 4.0 are alu and I would like to make my way up to a set of reasonable carbons. I have been told the headset on the Giant is slightly different to many brands and not all forks are compatible. Anybody have any ideas of ones that will work well and not have compatibility issues?

I'm sure I will have many more component questions for you all to help out on.

Thanks for looking.

Van

Ok, so further to the above post i went to one of my LBS today and someone said that I would need a set of forks for an intergrated headset which are 1"1/8.

I now understand what that is. Does anybody have any recommendations for under 100 pounds and any ideas for where is a good source on the internet?

What are peoples opinions on ITM Vistas?

I'd suggest not bothering and saving your money to spend on other things. They won't really make that much difference.
