Viscount 1980's Race Bike Restoration 'Aerospace 600'

Trying to restore my dads old Viscount Aerospace 600 Racing bike, it's an early 80's bike, i think.
I just wondered if anyone has any information on this bike or any photos?
I have nearly finished taking the bike apart, only the BB remains, i think it's shot but i don't want to take it out and not be able to replace it. Doeas anyone know what replacement i would need or were bottom brackets sizes the same then as they are now?
What condition does a frame need to be in to be professionally stripped and resprayed?
Another Problem is the stickers on the bike, the viscount downtube stickers are really messed up, and as i plan to get the frame sprayed i wondered if anyone had the equipment to make some of these. I would of course be able to pay for this, the only problem is that i cannot find a version of the logo anywhere online.
Any other advice regarding this project would be great.
I'll get some pics up soon.

you might be able to get a viscount decal from h lloyd

re: BB - i expect it's 68mm. it won't be anything else. then you need to decide what chainring you're going to run, that will vary the other measurement, 107 upwards.
opinion varies about resprays, unless it's really ratty, it's sometimes best to dremel it then use touchup paint.
i'd convert it. the frame doesn't sound like it's that amazing or anything, viscount aren't the most renowned of framebuilders at all. post some pics.0 -
"only the BB remains"
If it is threaded then what peejay says. Were not some Viscounts fitted with pressed-in bearing cups? I trust that this one doesn't have the so-called suicide alloy forks?d.j.

after looking on sheldon brown, the forks on this bike are not the so-called suicide forcks.0

nb: the one above is great. don't get the cheap £14 shimano, the trheads on the plastic cup are total crap.
i fitted the centaur in a 1950's path frame, so you shoudl be fine.
nb: check your chainline so you get the right width. a 111mm 'should' be fine.
are you goign to put gears on it o r run it single speed/fixed?0 -
Origional NOS BB can be bought from www.universalcyclecentre.co.uk/
He bought up the last of the stock when the factory closed. The condition is OK but they'll need cleaning and the bearings checking.0 -

It will be geared and i take it i need the BSA fitting bb, it will be used on a british frame with shimano 600 cranks.0 -
I had an Aerospace for years, they made several types I believe, if it is the lugless one then it is something special, light and quick if a bit bendy when sprinting......
Even the lower end ones are ok as old steel frames go, my mate has a lugged one from the late 70's and it rides ok.
I used mine for time trialling, road racing, club rides, audax and some short tours, so couldn't have been that bad.
The bb's .... the silly pressed cups appear on some Viscounts as do some bizarre inverted Shimano cup systems... short lived strangeness , I still have one in the shed and a good set of rings/cranks.....
The death fork is one to avoid.... if you have them hang them on the wall in the shed or something but for God sake don't use them.
Some Viscounts are becoming [slightly] collectable, especially if they have the Lambert bits attached so might be worth looking after and it's always nice to have something that other people haven'tClub rides are for sheep0
