Rear shock query

Hi,
I have a Fusion Shox o2-R rear shock on my marin alpine trail. When the bike is ridden there is a squelching sound comingfrom the shock. Is this a leak or is this the norm.
Also if I was to consider upgrading the shock what would be your preference? I will try to go with something which is light and has a lock out facility.

I'm not sure about the squelching sound, as I've never ridden one of these shocks, but certain forks make a this noise (Marzocchi) so it may be nothing to worry about.
Is the shock working normally? There may be no need to upgrade. If you do decide to buy a new one then the Fox shocks are your best bet. They're used on most decent full suss bikes for a reason.
What's the eye to eye length (measurement between the centre of the two mounting eyes) of your current shock and the stroke length (distance the shock compresses). It'll probably be something like 190mm eye2eye and 50mm stroke.
Have a look on CRC for fox shocks.0 -
shock make this noise if the compression and rebound are set to make the shock react slowly. Should be a squelchy sound. Normally leaks are a squelch followed by a hiss.0

If you are upgrading then go for a PUSH'ed RP3 or RP32 from TF tuned, nicest shock you'll ever ride and TF will totally guide you through the upgrade.0
