rode my nero corsa in the drumlanrig challenge today, and im a bit disapointed as my old ribble 7005 is a better ride, maybe its too stiff for me , already been on brian rourkes lookin at steel custom frames, was goin to get deep section wheels but i think a steel frame would benefit me more advice please. PS ma back and rear end are super sore and i dont normally suffer from this
cheers trig. :(

If you found your Ribble 7005 to be a better ride, you must be really struggling with the Nero Corsa.
I wonder if it's down to your position. A centimeter here , or a few degrees there can make all the difference.
All things being equal, I would expect a good carbon frame to be more comfortable than old school aluminium. With regard to steel frames, I'm a great believer, again depending on fit. I was riding the Drumlanrig Challenge as well today on my custom built steel Hewitt bike.
As soon as I get on it, it feels right, but I suspect that the main reason is that Paul Hewitt did a proper fitting on his jig.
Rather than abandon the Nero Corsa, I would be inclined to go to a bike shop where they offer a good fitting service. I would highly recommend Paul Hewitt, depending on where you live.

I've noticed a similar thing between my ribble alu winter frame and my nero corsa. I don't know what it is, but the winter frame seems to climb better (even though it's equipped with lesser equipment). Perhaps it was totally down to the Assos short I wore for the first time today though.

It's almost certainly all down to the geometry and position on the bike. Also possibly different tyres/ tyre pressures and a different seat post if they've changed. The material the frame is made from has a pretty much negligible effect on comfort, whatever the folklore might suggest.
