Avid Juicy 3 help please...

Hi, I have a problem with my Juicy 3 hydrolic brakes, in that whilst attempting to sort out the pads, the hydrolic liquid leaked out of the grip area (red stuff if this makes a difference). I have checked the manual, but can't find out if I can simply add more liquid, or do I need to drain the cables before filling with new liquid from scratch?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

how does the brakes feel?
red stuff it should be a clear/yellowish fluid."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

It doesn't! basically the lever goes fully to the grip, it must still have some fluid in as I can see the pads move slightly when I squeeze the lever. The fluid was deffo red, a right mess on the garage floor..._____________________________________________
