Looking at a Devinci hucker hardtail 2007 and noticed that the head angle is 70.5 degrees.
Now to me this seems to steep for freeriding.

    how is it measured?

might be steep or might not be....

and it does not say. so mail them. and find out how they measure the head angle.

If it is with a 440mm axel to crown hight is it not too bad as long as you dont want to go too big on the fork.

How else can you measure it then?

many ways. some companies state it with the fitted fork. or.....

Some measure it with the fork fully extended, some measure it with the fork at 30% sag, some - I've been told - measure it with the fork fully compressed!?!?!

Also, some will measure it with rear suspension at various states of travel as well.

So as you can see, not all that straight-forward.

Yea, I always thought it was just always the same. So if you fit a longer fork does that slacken the head angle.

yes. but you have to know where you are starting from.

the hucker does has a 70.5 degree head angle with the stock fork (Marzocchi 130mm drop off IV)

its designed to be a nimble freeride hardtail for some north shore and dirt jumping, where you don't want a super slack head angle

the Canadian made frame has a 1.5" head tube and heavily reinforced tubeset, lifetime warranty and big tire clearance so you can run a longer fork (i.e. Marzocchi 66) if you want to use the bike for extreme freeride or downhill, and this will give a slacker head angle and raise the bottom bracket to make the bike more stable at higher speeds or for landing large drops

however, the 2007 Hucker sold out some time back.....and the 2008 version is now made in Asia, and is a very different bike made to a much cheaper pricepoint, so Freeborn decided not to import them for 2008

So would it take a 66 RCV at 180mm?
