Wiggins role

What is Bradley's role in High Road really? He doesn't usually win the prologues but shows well and then loses chunks of time as soon as there's a hill. The occasional plucky but ultimately doomed escape. Is he a super domestique for someone, an ordinary domestique, a prologue showboater? I like him a lot as a bloke and a trackie but I can't quite see how THR get value for money. Can someone please explain.

4th place in a Tour TT last year - his TTing can't be all that bad. He's bound to win some TTs at some point in a HR jersey.

Plus he's good sponsorship value. Britain is Europe's second biggest economy, and if you asked the British public, Family Fortunes style, to name a famous cyclist, he'd come fourth (after Armstrong, Boardman and Boris Johnson)

I'm not having a go at him, just wondering how they perceive him, how they expect him to perform for them. He seems to fall between stools and as for sponsorship, what do High Road sell?

High Road don't sell anything - but they signed him before T-Mobile pulled out.

    Exactly!

The point is though what is his role in the team?

    Dom
    Superdom

    I'm not sure!

    Hi there.

When you want to shut down a breakaway, send Wiggins up front and line the whole peleton out for a few minutes.

Kinda handy for a ds to have that card in his back pocket.

    Cheers, Andy

ps What I really want to see is Wiggins giving Cavendish a hand sling in the last 400m...

    most have that ability.

Arguable Wiggins is any stronger than other riders from 150-250kms, when it really is necessary to close down a move.

If Wiggins was stronger at that distance, he would have been more of an animator, like Gilbert, Voigt, and the guys that chance their hand in the last kms.

Since he has not, you have to assume his abilities, talented tho they are, lie in a very narrow range. track + prologues and tts.

And he is a hypocrite. HE should have called Hayles the same as he did Moreni.

Has Hayles tested positive for a banned substance? I must have missed that.

  • Hayles was at Cofidis.

    Rest my case.

And what an excellent, watertight case it is too. Doesn't Moncoutie ride with Cofidis?

  • Tombak too.

The two guys, when Tombak rode on Cofidis, who did not take stuff.
