stiff front xt crankset/bb

hello
iv just fitted my new crank set
it seems to me when i spin it it seems a little stiff as it only doesnt 2-3 turns.
there is no chain on nd also did it befor i even preloaded the crank arm.
it was all faced properly befor installation by lbs.
is this normal or do i have a problem

    As long as the movement is smooth, and you can;t feel any resistance when rotating them, it's fine. Fresh bearings shouldn't spin forever. They only do that when all the grease has been washed out.

    I'll second that. I replaced my old XT with an external bearing FSA megaexo and it did not spin as much as my old one. Was faced and installed proper but was super smooth.

    hehe, I remember when I was a kid, and found that if you soaked the bearings from skateboard wheels in WD40, then they'd spin forever, so we all used to compete to see who's bearings would spin longest.
    Then about a week later we'd moan to our dads to get us new skateboard wheels because they'd seized up! :lol:
