I know they're no substitute for getting out there and falling off a few times, but what MTB riding skills books or DVDs can you guys recommend?

yea thats a good book - i got mine off ebay for a fiver including p+p

defintatly worth a look the maintenance section alone is worth it on its own...
also the big ride os ok no were near as good as Fundamentals. though.
