2006 Cannondale bb shell size

Looking to replace my crank and bottom bracket due to wear. DOes any body know what size the bb shell is on a 2006 optimo frame. I don't want to pull the crank yet, but i want to shop around and get the crank and bb before i do.

    Easy way is to simply measure straight accross the shell!

    With the newer external bottom bracket cranks, should that be the way you decide to go, they fit both 68 and 73mm shells by using spacers.

    why cant you put a tape measure up against the shell? 68 or 73mm.

    but if you are going for external bb and crank set up like a shimano HT2 then it does not matter as they fit either.
