I'm about to replace my GT avalanches' chainset, and after looking on parktools website, they advise the importane of having the bottom braket machiend and threaded. As i'm replacing Truvativ 5d for Truvativ Stylo, the threads, being in good condition should there be any need for this?

if you are going to a external bearing bb set up then get the bb shell faced."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I had the bb on my Giant faced to fit an HT2 I paid an LBS £15,which included fitting the chainset,so not much to get it done right.2006 Giant XTC

if the shell faces are not parallel the bearings might not last as long as they could."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
