do you actually like the seat?

I hated the one that came with my pilot 1.2 - i'd give it to you but it's on my old MTB at the moment (whose saddle fell to bits)

    awful thing!

anyway - JEJames seem to have a fair range of bontrager 'bits' - they have the race lite models, but I think you are going to struggle to get the 'OE" types

I was going to say evans too - but they don't seem to have any either,

yes i found the seat comfortable do you also know of a stem i can use for this seat which will be the same fitting as the one stuck in my frame but not carbon

i know you are put off by carbon - i've read the thread and realize what a pain in the arse a seized seatpost is - but try and get over the carbon thing. I swapped the carbon bontrager one from the pilot onto my langster and put the langsters 'pretend' carbon one onto the pilot (it's alloy wrapped to make it look like carbon!).

The pilot is less comfortable as a result (but the langster is much better - which is good as it is my favourite bike!)

other than that - any 27.2mm post will be fine - with a compact frame I'd try and get a longer one rather than the 250mm ones - 325 or 350 will be fine.

is a carbon seatpost more comfortable then an alloy one, and did you have trouble removing your seat post from the trek 1.2

no problem removing th seatpost - it was only there for a year, but used in all weathers including a very went coast-2-coast ride last may.

carbon seatposts are designed to remove some of the road vibration - that said, there are a lot of people on here that think they don't make a jot of difference - I personally think they do - but it does get a bit of debate on here.

    good priced one here:

although if you are stuck on alloy - there is one here:

actually - probikekit have a fairly good selection now that I look:

(not affiliated with PBK, although I have used them a fair bit and they seem good)

Bontrager Lux Seat...you'll have to be quick, they are the last of stock in the UK, they are getting superseded with a new model...you can still get them at Alpine Bikes..

    http://www2.alpinebikes.com/

I had a major dillemma recently...I'va always had Bontrager saddles and they suit me to a T...no problem...but tried to swap over to a Spesh Alias...oh my god...my arse was in tatters, also a Fizik Arione killed me aswell....a saddles the most important part of the bike IMO....and no saddle is suited for all...its a very personal thinng...I was very worried when I seen they were no longer stocked...but I did find alpine bikes and anotther shop in england with the CRZ+ option aswell...I bought 6 saddles in all for my 3 bikes just so i'll never have to worry for a looooong time.
