hi guys, new to the forum and sport. i've started riding on a borrowed bike until i get my own. i had a look through the 'what bike?' section, and think the specialized rockhopper sounds like the kind of bike i'm after. i want the lightest frame possible for around 500-600 quid, so does this sound like a good choice?
i'm a 6'4" stocky chap, so i weigh over 16 stone, does this have any bearing on the choice i make? in the past i've had problems with pedals tearing the threads off the pedal arm thingy leaving the pedal angled and wobbly.

About the best and lightest frame you will find for this money (for XC and general trail riding). I'd test one out, see how it feels.0

Well, i bought my wife a Rockhopper 2008 disc, £599, and i'm convinced it is lighter than my boardman, nice looking frame IMO.0
