stupid question but i have some schwalbe stelvio 23-622 tyres and the chap at the local cycle club who recently gave my bike a service gave me some continental inner tubes sized 25-622 when i asked for some spares, are these alright to use in the 23 -622 tyres

reddragon would say that! Look at all the stripes on his jersey. He propably wants to keep it that way, and one way to be sure is get everyone else to ride heayweight gear. This is what he`s doing with you
The 25`s are for 25 tyres and as yours are 23 you need 23 or 18-25, not heavyweight 25`s. i`d take them back, then go elsewhere (even evanscycles.com or ribblecycles.co.uk) and get some lightweight tubes your size. I use Continental Supersonic and have no trouble with them apart from pumping them up every week. Don`t forget to buy 2 spares and some glueless patchesThe Wife complained for months about the empty pot of bike oil on the hall stand; so I replaced it with a full one.0 -

Inner tubes fit a range of tires. My guess would be that you have Conti 18 - 25 mm and they are the right one's for 23mm's -check on the box.0

And stay away from Conti Supersonic tubes unless light weight is really really important, or you like practising fixing punctures - they're about the same thickness as a condom!0

Are 50g tubes really that much worse? I was under the impression that the tyre was the overwhelming influence on punctures. Does the tube actually matter?0

cheers zendog1 they are actually 18-25 so i guess he has given me the right ones!! just a tad confusing when tyres are 23's0
