From the sea otter:

A new Reba and Rev. My views were that the new SID was too close to the Reba, so interesting they have upped its travel to 120, and added a thru axle, mopre of a trail fork than XC fork. So naturally the Rev gets the extra treatment to move it away from the Reba. Why no power bulges on the Rev?
No other forks shown, but my guess is the Recon will be the budget Reba, and the Tora a budget Rev, and will drop its steel stanchions for 2009.

What i want to know, is where will the pike go? The new revelations will effectively replace it, so i predict 160-100mm travel adjust, and power bulges, maybe bigger stanchions like the other big forks, possibly 35mm0
-
Was thinking this too: I have found out the 2009 Rev uses the 2008 Pike lowers. Seems some of the range ge the treatment, others get last years cast offs ;-)
WIth the 35mm category, already have the Lyrik and Domain: my guess the Pike will stay at 32mm, but will have thicker stanchions, sterrer and crown, standard Maxle and maybe 150mm of travel.0 -
Yeah but they don't have a brutally stiff short travel fork, the argle isn't really tough enough for some people, 35mm 100-160mm would be sweet.
That's interesting about the revs.0 -
I think Domains can be custom chopped anyway to 100mm - saw a set in one of the mags recently. Send away job though.0

i should have bought my rebas next year. hehe silly me. they do look quite good though, particularyl the 20mm through-axle on the rebas.I said hit the brakes not the tree!!

It can do. Depends on the rider weight, conditions, fork length and construction - basically makes the fork track and steer better. Needed on a 120mm fork? Not so sure. Maybe for some.0

Some details here on the new Rebas:

3.85lbs for a 120mm thru axle fork? Amazing.0 -
Been on the SRAM webbie for a while

Very interesting. I think they're going to do very well with those.0

Anyonw know if they're new boxxers in the pipe line? I read the round of in here form the world cup and Steve Peat's boxxers (insert your own witty comment) look different to normal - aside form being black and saying blackbox obviously - bigger stanctions and lower legs with power bulges0
-
Not heard any rumours, but it seems a logical step - a triple clamp Lyric or Totem.
If Fox can make the 40 so stiff for so little weight increase, then maybe it is about time RS followed suit. The boxxer was nebver meant to have 200mm of travel really!0 -
that was quick
must be because you're a GT rider0 -
Lol, on occasion ;-)0

Power bulge
Sometimes I swear my mind is significantly younger than my body!0 -
Yeah, I nearly got one of them when looking at the new reba haha0

The material of new 20mm axle is different, so the thickness of axle tube can pretty thin than old type. Also, there are two weight saving hole on the lever. That's why the new one can lighter 50g than old.0
