I need some help please!

hey, i brought a pair of forks that have a 1 1/8 steered tube and my head set can only take 1 inch steered tube, sorry im new to biking, please help me

    is the headset already fitted to the frame? if so the forks are not suitable

    Stop, think,

    1 1/8th inch peg, 1 inch hole. It isn't going to work.

    Try and return the forks, then try and get some decent 1" forks from ebay.

    can i have the tube cut off and another one replaced by an engineer?

    oh by the way the steerer tube can be removed from the triple crown forks, could i get a new tube and use shims or something like that????

    NO. not possible. the crown is a different size.

    NEW FORK OR NEW FRAME.

    but for giggles what fork? and how much did it cost?

    as someone said above, i meant there's no point, yes in theory it could work but it just wouldn't be safe

    if they're triple clamps you COULD possibly get a new set of crowns that take an 1" steerer but the chances are slim and the cost just not worthwhile

    I strongly reccomend that you take a look at www.parktool.com or take bike and forks to a decent bike shop for advice,before you go any further.
