Hi Guys,

I am a mountain biker and I know very little about road bikes (shocker)

I been riding my Genesis Day to work for ages now and need a new challenge. So I am looking at getting either the Genesis Flyer or the Williers Pista.

Now I realize there is a considerable difference in price but they are the only two single speed bikes that have got my attention.

Anybody got any opinions on either.

Na, don't think I like the idea of fixed. I've heard the whole "be one with your bike" but its a little daunting.

Love road riding, but only really manage my commute otherwise I am always on my mountain bike. So I thought I would just make the most of the time I am on the road.

I am glad you mentioned the Langster, all my mountain bikes are Specialized, but I was just a little concerned with the price of £400 but the components seem to be very similar to the Genesis. But I am gonna order it I reckon.

I must admit, I did like the look of the Williers

    Thanks for that.

I have just spoked to a guy that is selling his 2007 Specialized Langster for £300.

He reckons its in perfect condition and has only done 50 miles.

Any idea what price I should expect to pay?

    Is £300 reasonable?

The Wilier Pista looks great but I've never ridden fixed so personally I'd be reluctant to throw a big lump of money at a WIlier or Pearson as a first fixed bike.

I know the Allez geometry and I was very nearly tempted to get last years (£350) in the sale Who knows what I'll do come this years sales (if I'm not still paying for the Izoard ).

Well I suppose my only option is to to by from this guy, he isn't flexible with his price. There is an 08 going for the same price buy its not as good looking. But I suppose looks aren't everything.

    I don't sound confused do I? :?
