trek 1.7 or allez elite

Hi, getting my first road bike I've got it down to either trek 1.7 or specialized allez elite I'm want it for long rides and possibly sportive rides when fitter. I just can't decide on which to choose any info would be helpful

    I had the same dilema, went for the Allez Elite in the end.

    Main reason was I preferred the closest LBS to me, a specialized dealer.

    Both are great bikes.

    yes me too just bought the trek 1.7, great spec for the money, rides beautifully, my first road bike too. Very very happy.

    the owners of both are going to say they are very happy with them. - 'cos they are both 'good' well priced bikes.

    pick the one that fits best - if they both fit good then go for the one you like the look of best.

    Me - I'd have the specialized

    I have a trek Pilot and a Specialized roubaix - I prefer specialized as a brand and I think that the specialized finishing kit (partic the body geometry range) is better than the bontrager stuff that trek uses.

    thanks they both fit me well and if its down to looks it would have to be the allez i think the colours look better than the trek
