Kona Stinky would not be ideal for the above.

As a rough guide and using Kona as an example, you will be better off looking at the Dawg or Four range.

If you're spending this much, don't buy anything without trying first.

Trail bikes from £1500 to £2000 - there is so much choice and few are true rotters.

The following are bikes I've either tried or have friends that own them:

Orange Five S - comes in comfortably under £2k leaving room to play with their very good upgrade scheme - take the Fox Float if nothing else but Hope Hubs and Hope Mono Minis are worthwhile and still comes in under £2k.

    Specialized Stumpy FSR

Marin Mount Vision or Rift Zone

    Cannondale Prophet or Rush

    Kona Dawg Deluxe

    Commencal Meta 5.5

    Lapierre Zesty

Jesus, there's so much to choose from!

To that list you could add a Giant Trance or Trek Fuel EX8.
    2006 Giant XTC
    2010 Giant Defy Advanced
    2016 Boardman Pro 29er
    2016 Pinnacle Lithium 4
    2017 Canondale Supersix Evo
