Sticky Piston

I'm having a problem with my front Hayes HFX 9 disc brake. One of the pistons is not retracting when I let go of the lever making it rub on the disc. I have taken the brake pads off and put some dot 4 brake fluid around the piston to lubericate it but it still won't retract. I can push it back in with a spanner but when I pull the lever it comes out and doesn't retract. Is it possible there is too much fluid in the system? Would that cause such a problem.?

might be time for a service. if the cleaning and lubing with dot 4 has not worked.

Hayes pistons can start sticking if not keep clean.
