Hey,

I am thinking of getting the Halfords Trail Buggy 1 and have a couple of questions

1. Whats it like and is it any good?

2. Is it compatible with a rear disk brake?

If anyone has one or can answer these questions i'd be very grateful

Thanks
Trevor

A2b magazine loved it. I'm planning to buy one, and had a look at the hitch the other day.

It fits onto the rear axle (left side) I'm not sure if it will work with a disc brake.
  • I ended up getting one anyway.
Its great..... the hitch seems ok, the safety strap doesnt seem to interfere with the brake.
Only thing I didn't expect was that the trailer runs off centre, the right wheel is almost inline with my rear wheel.
Takes a bit of getting used to as the clearance on the left side is totally different compared to the right side because of it sticking out a lot further.

oh thats weird! I guess thats the safe way round though isnt it? The wee one sits inside the road. Just different when turning right.

Hows the handling? Down hills and cornering etc?
  • Yeah thats what I thought. I had just assumed it would be centered.
Its a good idea though as it sits near the kerb and keeps your child away from the traffic a bit more.
The handling seems ok so far, not been out much yet. Hoping to start getting out more from next week.
Cornering is a bit strange, have to take lefts a tad wide but the rights are just like they are without one on (apart from the extra length).
Haven't encountered any hills yet as it been pretty flat where we've been so far.
