Bracket mounted front mech question

Hi,
Just a quick question. I have a frame with 68mm bottom bracket shell and I want to fit a bracket-mounted front mech to it. Do I need to get a 73mm bottom bracket to allow for the extra thickness of the mech bracket, or will a 68mm one do the job?
Thanks,
Ade

you get a 68E bb if you are using a E mech."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

I see, so a 68E bottom bracket is 2 or 3mm longer than a regular 68? Is that the only difference?Ade0

the E type is designed to be used with E type mechs and some chain devices. that is all the difference there is."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
