Anyone any recommendations for a bike rack and bag(s)?
Any good deals out there at the moment?
I have a Sirrus Elite 2007 with full guards fitted.

Hi,
I use a quick rack and expanding bag that slides on/off the rack and not panniers, works well for me.

Make sure you pick the right one for your bike (if you need to know what fits my Specilized please ask).
I get all my daily stuff in the bag, only now and again needing an extra shoulder bag if I take home work
The good thing with this rack is that it is quick release, just make sure you do it up very tight.
I crafted a light bracket that fits behind the reflector and sticks out both sides to carry 2 x LED.
I keep tube, tools, p* kit, extra coil lock, overshoes etc in the side pockets, it also has a top bungy mesh for bag of shoes/tubes etc...
Handles on top for easy of carrying
Overall very practical peice of kit.
I can take a photo and post if interested.

Just general thoughts:
I have found Blackburn racks to be bullet-proof (don't know exactly which model for your bike, but i've used an EX1 in the past).
A pannier that has rucksack fittings can be very useful depending on circumstances once you get to your location.0 -
Thanks for the suggestions, I will have a look into them and see if they fit my bike.
They look dead easy to fit, is sliding the bag on and off generally easier?
Quick release for the bag, sounds good.
A mate at work recommended these:

What ever I get I will have to ensure it fits my bike.FCN 100 -
Not used it myself but I've heard Altura stuff is good quality.
The fittings shown on that rack will require 2 holes in the seat stays (4 point fitting), although fittings for a brake mounting (3 point fitting) might also be in the kit? Does your bike have those seat stay holes?
If so, that seems like a good set up.0 -

I'll second that about the quick release system on the Topeak bags and racks. The setup I use is a Super Tourist DX rack and a Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DX With Side Panniers. It's got all the space you will need, with the advantage of the fold out panniers if needed, The quick release system means it's really stable on the rack too. Bought both from Wiggle.0 -

There are two holes just below the bottom of the seat bracket, presumably for a rack.
Which one seems like a good set up?FCN 100
