Ultra-embarrassing question
y`know the 2 wee studs that your drinks bottle cage is attached to the frame with , well...........I turned one of them too tight and now the stud is just turning in the hole and its not tightening nor loosening , is there a way to fish it out without causing damage and is it possible to use the hiole again even if the thread may have been stripped ?
I know im a dozy berk, you dont have to tell me

If the head is showing try gripping it with a mole grip type of tool and turning anti clockwise as you pull outwards. This may locate the damaged thread and repair it enough to remove the stud.0

It sounds like the threaded bit (I think its called a riv-nut?) has come loose in the frame. Its probably an LBS job to get it out, definitely if a new one needs to be installed.0

If it is the threaded boss that's come loose in the frame tube rather than the thread that's stripped you could perhaps re-attach the boss with epoxy. I've used JB-Weld successfully on model aero engine exhaust systems amongst other things. It's sold in most car spares shops.

No need to be embarrassed - you're by no means the first person to do this and you certainly won't be the last.
If this is on the seat tube, The easiest fix is to drill the remaining thread out and then get a longer allen bolt and a nut to fit - nylock is ideal. The tricky part is getting the nut into position inside the frame tube - improvise with a bit of bamboo and blu-tac, you get the idea.
If it's one of the downtube bosses you're more stuffed - easy repair with weld and a re-tap but that screws the paintwork. A home repair is probably best done with epoxy resin glue..
(later) After posting this I recalled an article I read once where a bottle boss had been repaired by putting a bolt in to the hole from the inside, secured with a nut on the outside. This left a length of thread protruding which the bottle cage could then be fixed to. I think the article was on Park Tool somewhere, hold on.. ah yes..

I did exactly this, Condor Cycles put a new threaded rivet thingy in for me and it was as good as new. So in short I think it is an LBS job.road0

If your LBS can't help, try a local sheet metal fabricators - Riv-Nuts are their stock-in-trade - drill the old one out and fit a new oneMake mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..0

They often tend to spin round if you try and drill them out and can damage the tube, I've done a few and usually grind them off carefully, then pop another rivnut in, easy if you have a pop rivet gun, otherwise bike shop job or any sheet metal shop should be able to do it as comments above.0
