Hi guys,
I have a Barracuda Jacabat, yes laugh but i picked it up cheap and have been into BMX's for a while and thought id change bits of the bike to suit me...
The bike in question:

Im ok on changing the forks and other parts easily.. But am confused as to wether i can go straight to a single speed front crank. The deraileur on the front is appauling, and the back at that aswell! Ive looked into it on the forum, but still i dont know where to start..
Will more or less any single speed c/set fit my bike, then if they do what size front do i go for?
The rear is currently 14 16 18 20 22 24 28
I am actually having problems taking this off, is it not meant to come off? haha
What are my actual options? is single front and the rear 7 on the back tried and tested or the longer safer option of an all single speed be better?
Sorry for the nub question.

if the chain rings are held in place by bolts rather than rivets then yes they can be removed replaced etc. is the rear "block" a cassette or a spin on freewheel?
Do you have the correct tools for removing either?
have a read of the info on parktools. linky in sig."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
