Eurus are closer to Racing 1s - they share the same hub and wide-bladed aluminium spokes
nice looking bike that! - very smart0 -
Cheers guys!
See this is thing I don't understand, when I hear guys on this forum talking about upgrading the R5s to R3s for 2,400 and then also having to wait so long when I managed to start with the Izoard PRO as the base for 2099 and then stepped up with the components and pedals for less.

I can't remember total cost of upgrade for wheels, but I think it was in the range of an extra £100 - £150?
I stopped short of the carbon bars and went for the profi, sounds stupid I know but I don't feel comfortable with the idea of riding with a carbon stem or handlebars.
I am quite tall at 6'4, and have a long inseam hence my nickname the emu  , but admittingly since taking that photo I have dropped the seat post down an inch.

You made the right decision - carbon bars aren't really worth it if you're on a budget. Better to get better wheels or gruppo than waste it on plastic stem and bars.0 -

They quoted an Izoard for me £2121.00 but it was no where near that spec
It had Zonda wheels, alloy cranks, Deda Newton stem and bars.0 -
Just to let you guys all know, I finnaly got my shiny new Izoard today. Having been told I had to wait eons, my somewhat surprised LBS owner rang me up and told me he had just received my bike............winner!
Anyway, after much deliberation I stuck with my original plan and got the red / white Izoard with Centaur groupset (including the carbon crankset) and Fulcrum 5's for £1999, despite the fact that all the Willier range have gone uo about 6% due to the pound vs euro.
All in all, I still consider this a good buy, especially since my LBS actually let me have a test ride, for free, no strings attached. So its hats off to Trevor and Nigel at Liphook Cycles for quite exemplary service despite being mucked around by the Wilier importers.
I managed to get a quick 40 min blast tonight, it's an absolute dream to ride and i'm dead chuffed all round!
Lagavulin, hope you get yours soon.

Zonda is about the same as R3 so that sounds about right although not sure about the alloy crank business. I think they would give you carbon but probably would have to order them in and wait.
I actually wish though I still had my old alloy centaur gears, as the new 08 centaur range prevents me from ranging through the gears with one step

Pleased you've got yours (genuinely). I was told my a couple of places I enquired about the bike that the £1999 deal was a steal at that price. Enjoy.halfmanhalfsnookermachine wrote:Lagavulin, hope you get yours soon.0
