I am only just getting back into my bike and going to start my horrid London commute quite soon... (it was the last straw the other day when my 8 mile journey took 2 hours by public transport).

So I bought a new bike today - Giant Escape R2 (and pretty impressed - much better than my MTB) however on my first cycle in ages I got a puncture and then nudged by a car into the kerb... Grrr... Hopefully my luck on the bike will pick up.

    Just to cheer you up, - puncture is nothing compared to that!

    Only when I hit that hole for real it was left crank/bottom bracket, not kickstand, and of course BB had to be replaced. :(

    As for how I got into that blasted hole in the first place, - well, Friday night, just after rain, group of "erraticaly moving" pedestrians ahead...
