Hi,
Thanks to some theiving b******ds and the efforts of my lovely Insurance company and their relationship with Wheelies Direct, I found myself taking delivery of a brand new Stumpy HT expert on friday. Thanks all involved.
What a superb bike. The only problem is a complete lack of response form the Juicy Ultimate 7's on the back. I have read the manual, and adjusted the reach of the levers, but this makes them stick out too far but doesn't seem to make a difference. I have also adjusted the 'pad engagement point' until it won't go any further. this made a tiny bit of difference, but not 'stop on a sixpence' performance by any means.
I was hoping they would need to be bedded in but they have got alot worse in the couple of very very short rides I have dared go on.
Obviously I can't pop the bike round to Wheelies so if I can resolve the matter quickly while the weather is reasonable, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Firstly, have you got ultimates or juicy 7's? As far as I know, there's no such thing as ultimate 7's.
How much riding have you done to break them in? I installed my new front brake on Friday and went out for a ride. Obviously the braking wasnt very good, coz they havent been bedded in yet. When I got home they had just started working properly, and felt much better. It does take a while to bed them in, so my advice is to go for some SAFE rides to bed them in0 -
as above let them bed in. But first check that the calipers are aligned."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Honest - I think they may be 2007 spec, but they actually say Ultimate 7, and on the spesh website it lists them as such. I haven't gone very far I will admit, but thats because I'm too scared! As an alternative, I have been lifting the bike and spinning the wheel to simulate braking. They are getting worse though!0

I have taken the caliper off and started again - doesn't make any difference. If there was a slight improvement over the first time I took the bike out I would try and bed them in more, but the opposite was happening...
However, I have just been out and did nothing but get upto about 15mph and brake - loads - and they are loads better!!! I didn't believe it because they weren't working at all, but all seems fine now.
Sorry about being such a newbie with discs and thanks for the advice0 -
No problem m8 :P The manual for my brakes say that you should do at least 50 fast brakes before they start to perform properly! Just takes time, but hope you like em now lol!0

My juicy was a bit limp at first persevere, cos now they are amazing, though the pads they come with suck a bit, i use goodridge pads sintered, and they are rocking!0
