British Team kit is probably for sale through the British Cycling website. There seems to be a bit of snobbery about people riding replica kit - a bit like 12 year olds down the park wearing their Manchester United and Chelsea kits. Sadly some of the replica kit isn't made too well and so isn't as comfortable or durable as some of the branded stuff, which is probably why the majority of people avoid it. I used to have some team replica kit from Castelli a few years ago, which was well made, but most of the stuff you see these days barely lasts a season.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

I always wear team clothing if I can, it makes the lycra look interesting and less like you are wearing lycra, it also is brighter and cars notice it quicker, and lastly if you find good deals you and all your friends can buy matching kits and feel like you are riding in a team, i know it might sound a little childish, but it really does feel good to be out on a ride all teamed up together and doing your shift on the front. I am not member of a club but this team ethic really does come when riding in matching kit.

Also take the CSC kit for example, the decente clothing is very good quality and feels great on, I can be in it all day and feel comfortable, more so than any other bib shorts that I can get for £25. they have lasted me for 1 1/2 seasons and still look great, so I have more than had my money worth.

If you have the money for Castelli or ASSOS then get it I suppose, but I like my lycra with corporate logos to disguise my less than perfect physique!
the day I stop dreaming of upgrades is the day die!

  • Hi there.

Join your local club and wear your own kit!

Why pay to advertise someone else's product?

I'll proudly wear any of the following kit:

    Falkirk Bike Club
    Stirling Triathlon Club
    Central Athletics
    Ochil Hill Runners

    ;-)

    Cheers, Andy

The problem is with most of the team kit is that it changes too frequently, a bit like football kit. So it all looks a bit dated after a couple of seasons. Just stick to branded kit, or as mentioned join your local club, and be proud to wear their colours.

I dont go for the Pro team kit any more. You have to coordinate too much and you cant just pick the shorts from Team A and then the top from Team B...

Club kit is the better option, or nowadays theres lots of plain design tops to choose from.

There is in UK, no idea why, France and Italy you get entire families decked in their favourite team kit and life still seems to go on. I have a few team shirts (plain shorts) chosen on what they look like rather than the team, usually obscure teams that 99% of people won't know if it's dated or not anyway. Then when it gets really old you can pretend it's retro chic :)
