Saracen zen 1, Scott scale 50 or rockhopper disc comp

Any idea which of the following would be the best bike for a newbie?

Saracen zen1
Scott scale 50
Rockhopper disc comp

Where will you be riding? 3 different styles of bikes really.

A mix really. Some commuting, some trail riding, no jumps however.

I'd rule out the Saracen Zen then. Its more of a hardcore type of bike, and heavier. The Scale is the opposite, light, long and steep geometry with less travel on the fork - a racy bike. The Hopper sits inbetween. Be good to go and see them in the flesh to appreciate what i mean.
