I've taken my old SciCon box on EasyJet many times with no problem. Call me mad but i'm thinking of using BA to Italy (from Gatwick not T5) but whilst they carry sporting goods for free, the max dimensions LxWxH 168cm is way smaller than a SciCon. Anyone had any experience taking the same or similar kit with BA of late?

if you read the small print that is the sum of the dimensions but if you read the baggage section they state they accept bike boxes (subject to max. weight specs). Never had a problem with BA and a bike even thro' the awful Gawick and Heathrow

Whilst most bicycle bags comply with the standard dimensions, We will accept all single bicycle bags as illustrated.

I take that to mean that if it is a conventional bike case, you should be alright. :?
