Can old bike tyres be recycled or are they for the bin?

Hi there.

Yup - keep them for turbo training. Also if you're paranoid about puncturing in winter you can cut the bead off a race tyre, then use the bit that's left as a liner inside a larger winter tyre. Heavy, but you'll never puncture again on a cold January ride to work.
