Advice please?
I want to spend about £600 on a bike which I can use for a short commute about 3 miles that I can also take out for a trail ride at weekends.
I was thiking of a Rockhopper but am a bit of a newbie so may be barking up the wrong tree with that....

I've got a showroom condition Boardman Team that I might want to sell if I get my hands on a bike I'm after. A very well spec'd bike that cost the fella I bought it off £800 brand new, an due to both him and myself hardly riding it, it's still like knew.
google boardman team MTB an you should get the info you require. drop me an email if your interested...0 -
Go for an MTB rather than a hybrid. A 3 mile commute is nowt really, will be no prob on an MTB. Rockhopper is a good bike, test it out for size.0

I have a rockhopper - an 07 disk. Been good for me once the gears and brakes had bedded in and been set up correctly.
if your not pushing it then even a vee brake model would be fine although disks are very easy to take care of if set ok.
I ahve been riding my rockhopper on the road quite a bit recently with slicks on but wven with mtb tyres it would be fine.
Get an 07 model onwards as it comes with the M4 frame which apparently is better than what was on the old models.0
