axel problems

hello,
I've just had my freehub replaced at Halfords (shimano), got the guy to put a new SRAM cassette on it, popped it back in the frame, it's jammed against the frame.
My initial thoughts are that the guy has simply not adjujsted the axel properly once he's replaced the freehub, can't be the cassette as it was a 9 speed shimano already (I'm sure they're compatable with SRAM). I'm taking it back but is there anything else it could be, maybe a lost spacer or something.

also,
I've just noticed there may be a slight bend on the axel (very slight, almost un-noticeable) does it need replacing, and could this be affecting the clearance for the cassette.

Any thoughts welcome.

p.s. I'll be doing it myself next time, didn't have the right tools.

Could be the incorrect freehub or the spacers on the axle have been put on incorrectly. A bent axle should be replaced as it will cause premature bearing failure and damage the cones and bearing surface in the hub.

could be that you just need to spread the frame a tad to get the wheel into the frame and then every thing is ok?

Or is the wheel in the bike and the freebody or cassette is catching?

have a read of hub servicing on parktools to give you an idea what should have been done.
