Bike purchase dilemma

I've found a good deal on the bike I want but it isn't from my LBS. I asked the LBS if they would do the same deal but the owner is on holiday and they can't without asking him. Do I take the chance of losing the first deal by waiting till Tuesday to ask the owner who could say no anyway or buy from the first dealer who is 50 miles away? I want to support the local shop and it will be better for servicing etc but it seems unbelievable that no one can make the sale without the owners permission. We are talking about a bike with Racing 3s for the same price as 5s. What would you do?

Either speak to the shop that has the good deal and ask them how long will it keep for, or buy the bike at the best deal. If you need any work doing the local shop won't turn you away.
  • Dunno but good on you for still realising the importance of having a good relationship with a good LBS. something that seems to be very undervalued these days.

Go with the good deal. Your LBS should not have been left without someone who can make those decisions.
