lx hose insert ?

hi am trying shorten my Shimano lx hose but cant seem to be able to get the insert in all the way its so tight any ideas thanks

    this is the one that goes into the hose bore? use more force. try pressing the insert against something rather than trying to pres the insert into the hose.

    I've just built up a new set of XT brakes, not sure if the hose is the same (probably is). The hose came with 2 plastic blocks that you use to sandwhich the hose in a vice. You then use a soft face hammer to tap the insert home into the end of the hose.
    It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    just a thought which lever?

    EDIT does not matter all use the same fitting and yes it is the same as XT.

    No you're right but it is the same procedure. Look at the first exploded diagram in this link.

    Part no 4, the TL-BH61 is the same as for the XT hoses.

    its the right hand lever have to get anew olive now then try again

    had anover go with new insert but still cant get it all the way in only 3/4 og the way?

    yer done it phone rutland cycles they told me just put the hose in the two yellow blocks then put it in avive and tap the insert with a mallet worked great thanks rutland cycles happy man :lol:
