New wheel not centred between brakes
Just installed a new front wheel (Shimano WH-R500) and it is not centred between my cantilever brakes; the left pad is a lot closer and rubs to the extent that the wheel won't really move. Now I can adjust the brakes OK, but is this an indication I have done something wrong or there is something wrong with the wheel?
Rim width (20.8mm) could of course be different than previously (Bontrager Select, not sure of the width on that one) but I am concerned that the dish may be off? Wheel seems pretty centred in the fork and reasonably true. Any pointers on things to check appreciated.

You have presumably tried flipping the wheel round to check whether it's the wheel or the bike? Also see this recent thread http://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=125655920

Thanks for the tip. I didn't try that.
Held the wheel centered while tightening the quick release and this seems to have done the job for now. Am I right that you shouldn't have to do this though?
Also noticed that the brake pad that was touching is extended more than the one that isn't, suggesting it is this rather than anything to do with the wheel. I'll reseat the wheel and adjust the brake pads.0
