Hello, after my recent crash and fracturing my clavical i am looking at a full face helmet. I have a big head measuring 62cm and i also have my long manly hair. I was just wondering if i should go for a 60-62cm helmet for a tight fit or a 62-64 to allow a bit of room. Im not looking at a £300 helmet more like a £35, http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... delID=4900
Has great reviews and great price.

Which of the two sizes?
Do it if you dare
Leaping from the sky
Hurling through the air
Exhilarating high
See the earth below
Soon to make a crater

I can't think what it's called off the top of my head, but Fox's 'cheap' full face looked good and was highly rated by mags.

    EDIT: found it - http://www.stif.co.uk/gear/select_optio ... uctid=5158

Fox Rampage, and it's half price :)

Don't buy a helmet without trying it first.
Different helmets are slightly different shapes, to suit different shapes of head.
What may be perfect for one person, may be totally unsuitable for another.

(oh, and you are aware that a full-face will not protect your clavicle, right? :D )

    EDIT;
Oh, and dougizzle, is that a megadeth quote in your sig?

    "blue sky, black death
I'm off to meet my maker"

Ye its megadeth and the helmet is from chain reaction cycles so i can always return if doesnt fit .

'We offer a flexible returns policy and are happy to accept items back for a refund or exchange if they don’t fit, you’ve ordered the wrong things, the items are damaged or faulty upon receipt or you simply don’t like what you’ve ordered.'

Fair enough, go for it then.
The Azonic looks similar (although more modern) to my Met Attilla, ahich was a pretty good helmet. I could do with something more modern though!

funny how a decent crash can insprire you to buy a helmet. I bought my first lid after flying 15 feet through the air, into a thorny tree - then down head first onto a rock and then straight to hospital for the staple gun treatment

Luckily, I've only ever crashed whilst wearing a helmet. First big crash resulted in two fractured ribs, concussion, a wrecked rear brake calliper, and a snapped swingarm.
That kind of pounded home why wearing a helmet is such a good idea.

Try before you buy, and bear in mind that the padding will "pack down" as the helmet gets older - its a rule of buying a motorbike helmet, always buy one which feels a bit tight at first because it will loosen up.
