I have been taking a look at the fixed gear galleryrecently and have noticed that there is a very high percentage of fixed bikes with Brookes saddles. even the modern looking bikes.
Is there any reason for this?

I'm sure they are very comfortable but the fixed scene is very fashion conscious and Brooks saddles are in just now. As are Velocity Deep V rims, riser bars, Oury grips and clips and straps.

Wow, if that's true I might have to give this "fixie" thing a try. I think I still have a ton of
"retro", or should I say "original" stuff laying around.

You're right. At 60 it's all just original and old.

My race bike has a Brook too! On FGG, style is all, but they do work well if you can get the setback right.
