How long should a first service take?

I've just rung my LBS to put my bike in for it's first service since new.
They reckon it'll only take half hour or so and would do it while I wait.

Is this right? I've got no problems with it - only the leaking fork that I've mentioned in a previous post - but I thought it'd be in a lot longer than that. I have no idea what they'd check mind you to string it out. Am I being unreasonable?

Any idea's please :D

sounds about right, If a few things are wrong it may take a bit longer.
waiting and watching is a very good think as you may learn a few things.

  • did you tell them about the Fork?

If not your basic first service is to retune your gears adjust your brakes and re tension all bolts.

    That's about all
