I need a new chainset for my old 12speed road bike, which has been converted to fixed.
How do I know what will fit?
I only want something quite cheap, but don't know what my options are.

If you need anymore info, please let me know.

Many thanks

Owen

i'd take it into a shop and ask.

it depends on a few things, whether you need a whole chainset - cranks included, or just a chainring for one.

RPM do a SS/fixed crankset for about £40 - try Byerscycles
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

My LBS has an RPM 'cross chainset which comes with a 48T outer ring, so will probably go for that.
But what size chain will I use, as the ring won't be for a 1/8th?

    Cheers

No, but the ring will be smaller than 1/8th and therefore not a problem! Can run 1/8th on 3/32 (front and/or back) just not vice versa!
