New Wheelset Advice

Hello,
Just a quick email to ask for advice / opinions in respect of anyone's experience with either set of these wheels:
Hope Pro II / Mavic 717 / DT Revs or Hope Pro II / Stans ZTR Olympic / DT Revs.
I am in the process of upgrading the components on my bike - a Cannondale Prophet SL. I am trying to get the weight down considerably to be able to race it in xc races (not to compete at first, but just light enough to feel that i am not being left behind), but also have it robust enough for general weekend trail riding in and around Scotland.
As Crossmax SLR's cost a bit much, i have narrowed it down to the above sets of wheels in what's left of my budget. I have no experience of tubeless wheels, but both sets will be lighter than what i currently run - the Stans by quite a significant margin.
Thoughts and advice, pros and cons of either wheelset would be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

You cant go wrong with Mavic rims,I have the 719's on XT hubs ,basically a burlier 460g version of the 717,great wheels. If you plan to race XC then go for the 717 at 395g!!0

DT Swiss 240s hubs are rather nice too0

If you plan to run tubeless then the ZTR's are the best option, they run tubeless just with the addition of 5g of sealing tape onto an already light wheelset. Most people go with the ZTR Olympic because it's more well known in the UK, but in the USA the ZTR355 is the popular choice because it makes a slightly stiffer wheel. I build equal amounts of both. They cost a little more than the Mavic but you don't have to add the cost (and weight) of a tubeless conversion kit. The ZTR's build up into strong wheels.
However, when racing there's no magic bullet to make things easy. The biggest benefit is obtained from some basic physical training. Once you've got that then you'll appreciate the light wheels more.
Hubs don't matter that much, they all work, and the Hope Pro2 is as good as anything and will last years.
