Avid Juicy 3's

Been out on my new Rockhopper a few times now, and i just don't feel comfortable with the Juicy 3's it has fitted.

When i first picked the bike up i noticed they were a little squidgy and had excessive travel in the brake levers - with the rear almost touching the handlebar when fully pulled.

I've messed about with the reach adjustment screw, but all this did is make the levers too far away for me to comfortably pull - although it did firm them up abit, as has the bedding in period.

I've now set the reach at a comfortable distance, but i'm still finding they have too much travel.
Is this the same with all Juicy 3's due to the lack of a pad wear adjustment dial, or is it a sign of needing a bleed?

it means that the pads have not settled yet or the calipers are not aligned.

pull the lever while watching the disc. does it get deformed? yes align the caliper.

No bleed and not the lack of adjuster.

No movement in the disc - checked for that today.

so you purely have a lot of pad movement?

re move disc gently pull lever to set the pistons closed together. refit disc should be sorted.

Other option is that they could be low on fluid. inject a bit with the bleed syringe into the master cylinder.
