E2E on a single speed

Hi All

It has been a while but a recent tinker session in the bike shed the other day resulted in a single speed bike emerging.

I did an E2E a couple of years ago on a normal touring bike and was contemplating attempting it on the single.

Has anyone on here done it?

I am only in the dreaming stage at the moment but I can't find an awful lot about it on the web so i though I would ask here.

The last trip was un supported camping and I did it in nine days. This time I would do it fully supported by wife in camper van

I commute daily about ten miles in hilly Cornwall and bizarrely I have found I am quicker on the single than my normal bike.

Any way, always up for a challenge

Like you I've had such stupid ideas but not got the fitness etc to actually go through with it., If you do go ahead, good luck.

Phil Chadwick is a stalwart fixer. He's done LEL and PBP on fixed. I think he says it's usually a 68" gear. You could try picking his brain.

Yup, fixed phil is the man. Might still hang out on another cycling forum - as might Richard Thoday, another distance-no-object-no-gears phenomenom!

Didn't some cyclist years ago ride up from Porlock wier onto Exmoor on a fixed? When I say a few years ago I mean 40-50.
