Securing a bike?

I assume that most people keep their bikes in garages/sheds, but is there a certain way you have to secure the bike once it's in the garage/shed for insurance purposes?
If you keep your bike in a locked garage, do you also have to chain the bike to something too?

Not unless its part of the small print, ususally just covered as long as its in a locked garage! I would double check with your home insurer though to be sure!

Common sense would say lock it anyway."The problem was, I was still using my eyes even though I had them shut"

The way I secure mine is to have an extra lock on the door. Also I made a plate that sits Under my shed floor and then has a floor anchor (see link) bolted to it.

BFO chain on it and the only way your getting my bike is if you have the tools or if you f*ck my frame by cutting it off the chain.0 -
if you lock it up inside the garage then it really can'y be stolen at all which stops all the hassle of insurance and being bikeless al togetherI took falling off bikes...and turned it into an art!0

I decided to get a BFO lock and a floor plate as it is a hell of alot cheaper than insurance plus if I had insured my bike from the day I bought it I it would have cost me the price of the bike again by now.0
